Philosophy and General Practice
The Early Learning Center (or ELC for short) is a program that serves students in grades 3k, 4k and 5k at St. Patrick School. Our goal in the ELC is to provide students with a strong foundation in academic, social and leadership skills to make students lifelong successful students. We are a family centered setting, meaning we frequently host events in and outside of the classroom that encourages family members to experience education with their child. We believe in teaching with a variety of strategies, including play, music, art, technology and direct teaching. Our doors are open to all students.
What Does a Child Learn in the ELC?
We teach a variety of subjects including; math, reading, science/social studies, music, gym and art. Typically we have a theme established to help connect subjects together. We also teach religion to kindergarten and students in the P4J Program that have opted to attend our religion program. In addition to these subjects, students attend music and gym with specialized instructors.
