Welcome to Mrs. May's Webpage!
I'm Mrs. Nicole Jenks May, and I have the middle school home room this year. I teach the humanities (Social Studies, Reading, Language Arts) for grades 4-8 and also first grade Religion and third grade Social Studies.
I grew up in one of the subdivisions near Thresherman's Park near Edgerton, and went to Milton schools. Today, I'm married and my husband and I have one son who my husband homeschools, and we also have three cats, and we live near the library, pretty close to school.
I studied Theatre, English, and Spanish at Mount Mary University (pictured on the left), and also have a Master's Degree in English Education from Mount Mary. I'm back there now studying creative writing. I also have a J.D. (law) from the University of St. Thomas, an M.L.I.S. (library) from the University of Wisconsin--Milwaukee, and I started work toward my Ph.D. in Education and Library-related areas at UW-Milwaukee before I decided to focus more on writing and teaching. I am the vice-president of the children's section of the Catholic Library Association, and have given presentations to teachers and librarians on Neurodiversity and serving religious and conservative families in libraries and in schools.
I have taught students both online and offline from pre-schoolers through graduate students, and am so happy to be part of the Saint Patrick's Community.
